Kyoto Traditional Painting
Coloring experience combining two traditional techniques of Kyoto: Yuzen-zome and Tarashikomi.
Yuzen-zome, or Yuzen-dying was invented by a fun painter Miyazaki Yuzen. His technique features drawing starch frames on silk fabric. The line prevents the color from going over another lines, which allows you to color directly in those lines.
TARASHIKOMI is another style used for Japanese painting. The inventor is Tawaraya Sotatsu who lived in around 15th to 16th century. His famous piece is Fujin-Raijin-zu byobu, translated into wind god and thunder god on the screen. He used his style depicting the clouds under Rraijin. Doing this he presented the natural gradations and intensity of colors.
In this experience, you are provided with a pre-drawn shikishi paper board and color it with pigment produced by Kissho, a long loved Japanese art material company.
The workshop takes 3 hours in your room. It feels a lot of time and work, but it’s surely a satisfying procedure to complete your own piece: Choose colors that fit a maiko girl, make beautiful gradation for Sakura petals. Bring back home this special souvenir from Kyoto!

Kimono Wearing
Today, the term of kimono is referred to Japanese traditional clothes, but it originally meant just "clothing," something to wear.
In this experience, you are going to enjoy wearing a casual kimono called "Yukata," and this is relatively easy to wear.
You have two options:
Dressing service
Kimono-dresser will help dress you with your yukata and teach how to fold it back so you can take it with you nice and neat back to your country.

Dress-yourself Lesson
A lesson of how to dress yourself with your own yukata set
You will learn how to wear it by yourself. With a set of yukata, you can enjoy dressing yourself anytime, anywhere.
